13 811 and City of Irving Permits

Caution: We have had several homeowners pay for broken underground utility lines. It makes sense to "dial 811", a free service that will locate underground pipes and wires.

"Dail 811" needs to be called 3 business days before a dig. See texas811.org for more information. "Dial 811" does not locate irrigation pipes or wires. Please call us if you encounter the irrigation system when digging. Please do not patch the wires yourself - it is better to have the irrigation contractor make a water-tight repair. Simple splices will fail in a year or two and broken or corroded underground lines are extremely hard (and expensive) to locate.

Caution: For owner protection, permits are required by the City of Irving for most types of work on a building or building system such as plumbing and electrical, fences, irrigation and the installation of accessory structures like storage buildings and pools. The code inspection process exists to protect owners from creating dangerous and potential deadly conditions in their home like ungrounded electrical repairs in bathroom. Please check with City regarding a permit (972 721-2371) and choose wisely.
